APAC-SCA and CAA Team Up to Tackle Regulatory Challenges in Cellular Agriculture Across Asia-Pacific

The APAC Society for Cellular Agriculture (APAC-SCA) and Cellular Agriculture Australia (CAA) have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at advancing the development of cellular agriculture across the Asia-Pacific region. The agreement will focus on regulatory alignment, public engagement, and policy development to build a sustainable food system through the emerging sector.

Both organizations are committed to accelerating growth in the cellular agriculture sector by fostering transparency, science-based policies, and trust with the public. By joining forces, APAC-SCA and CAA seek to address regulatory challenges and contribute to a unified framework that supports the responsible development of cellular agriculture technologies.

Peter Yu, Program Director of APAC-SCA, stated, “Cross-border collaboration is essential to building a thriving and trusted ecosystem for cellular agriculture. Through this partnership, we’re bringing together our regional strengths to drive transparency, coordinate regulatory efforts, and engage the public in meaningful ways.”

Strengthening policy, trust, and innovation in APAC

The partnership will focus on key areas such as policy and regulatory exchange, joint publications, and strengthening public trust through coordinated initiatives. Both organizations will collaborate on knowledge sharing and jointly developing programs to foster innovation and sectoral growth in cellular agriculture.

Yu also shared his excitement about the partnership in a social media post, writing, “Proud to have signed a cornerstone MoU and to have Cellular Agriculture Australia as our Strategic Partner to APAC-SCA. This marks a significant step forward in international collaboration to accelerate the future of food – which the industry truly needs.”

He added, “This partnership reflects our shared commitment to advancing cellular agriculture. Together, APAC-SCA and CAA aim to foster an enabling environment for innovation, support science-based policymaking, and cultivate a regional ecosystem where cellular agriculture can thrive. This MOU isn’t just a document — it’s a reflection of the collective vision for a more sustainable, secure, and equitable food system.”
