Biotech startup Cell AgriTech has announced that it is opening a pilot plant in Singapore, which it describes as a “launchpad for cellular agriculture production”.
The facility will be operational by next month, offering an affordable contract manufacturing model where startups and cultivated meat companies can scale or validate their concepts without any upfront CAPEX or OPEX costs. On LinkedIn, Cell AgriTech lists a variety of advantages to the service, including:
- Dedicated bioreactors for each client;
- Real-time remote monitoring;
- Facility access, an on-site training space, and office space;
- Dedicated cell banks;
- Free technology testing, and regulatory support at no extra charge;
- Flexible long-term partnerships;
- IP protection and privacy, a non-compete guarantee, and an individual NDA signed by Cell AgriTech staff members working on each company’s project.

Growing the future of food
Cell AgriTech previously opened a cultivated meat production plant in Penang, Malaysia, with a total investment of RM20 million. The facility was claimed to be the first of its kind in the country.
The company is now planning to host a Cultivated Meat Conference at the Penang site on September 9, 2025. The event aims to provide firsthand insights into the cultivated meat production process, from lab-scale research to full-scale production. Participants will be able to watch live demonstrations, see cells proliferating, learn about cell harvesting procedures, and experience the transformation from concept to final product.
Attendees will include alternative protein companies, entrepreneurs entering the cultivated meat space, hotels, and fine-dining restaurants. Cell AgriTech will host a dedicated booth highlighting its cultivated fish products and affordable contract manufacturing services.
“Let’s grow the future of food — together in Singapore,” said Cell AgriTech on LinkedIn. “If you’re a cellular agriculture company looking to scale, prototype, or produce for market, reach out to us now. This is your chance to produce where the world is watching.”
