Aris de Rijke Takes Over Leadership of Meatable as Jeff Tripician Shifts to Board Position

Cultivated meat company, Meatable, has announced a leadership transition following its acquisition of Uncommon Bio’s cultivated meat platform. Aris de Rijke, who has been serving as the company’s Chief Technology Officer, will take over day-to-day operations from Jeff Tripician, who has led Meatable as CEO since 2024. Tripician will move to the role of Board member, where he will continue to offer strategic advice, particularly on commercialization and industry partnerships.

Uncommon Bio acquisition strengthens Meatable’s position

The integration of Uncommon Bio’s platform, which took place a few weeks ago, positions Meatable as the only cultivated meat company with a multi-platform approach. The acquisition is set to bolster the company’s research and development efforts, which are primarily based in Leiden, and is expected to contribute to advancements in product development, regulatory approvals, and industry collaborations.

Aris de Rijke commented, “The acquisition of Uncommon technology has transformed our capabilities and opened up more opportunities than ever before. With our core business and scientific teams in Leiden driving integration, this is the moment to ensure Meatable continues to lead the way in bringing cultivated meat to the world.”

Cees de Jong, Meatable’s Executive Chairman, expressed confidence in the company’s future direction: “Meatable is now uniquely positioned to drive further technology and commercial leadership. I look forward to working closely with Jeff as a Board member, where we will continue to benefit from his vast knowledge and network in the meat industry. The operations are in excellent hands with Aris, given his proven track record in scaling up emerging technologies.”

New leadership, new opportunities

This leadership change comes as Meatable looks to expand its technology portfolio and deepen its relationships with commercial partners. The company’s focus will be on the integration of Uncommon Bio’s platform and the expansion of its product offerings across different species.

Jeff Tripician, who is based in the United States, reflected on his tenure as CEO and the company’s evolution. “I am proud of how far we’ve come, especially the way we’ve established Meatable as a serious partner for the meat industry. The Uncommon acquisition sets the stage for even greater progress, and I look forward to supporting Aris and the team from the Board as they seize these exciting new opportunities,” he stated.
