Dear readers, supporters, and partners,
You may have noticed that things have been quiet here over the past few days. Behind this isn’t a simple decision, but one that has required a great deal of thought and effort: we have had to pause our daily operations for now. This step wasn’t an easy one, but it was necessary to ensure the future of vegconomist.
Since our founding in 2018, we’ve achieved incredible milestones together: what started as a small project has grown into a globally recognized voice for the plant-based and cellular agriculture industry. With over 33,000 articles published in German and English, international offshoots, and Cultivated X, we’ve set benchmarks. A B2B community of over 60,000 LinkedIn followers, hundreds of thousands of monthly website views, and exceptionally high newsletter engagement prove it: we’ve established ourselves as a central voice in the industry and a hub for valuable business connections and growth opportunities. What makes us especially proud is the real difference we’ve made together in driving the shift toward sustainable nutrition and improving the lives of countless farmed animals.
Despite these successes, the current economic climate means we can no longer operate viably as a small, independent publisher. We are actively working to ensure that our platforms can continue under new ownership. We remain deeply convinced of the long-term success of our industry and our mission. Our goal is to bring back the platform you know and rely on as quickly as possible.
Over the coming days, it’ll need a little more time to reorganize. Until then, we’re deeply grateful for your past support, your trust, your partnerships, and the many inspiring connections we’ve made. A special thank you goes to our incredible team, all former employees, our customers, and readers.
With heartfelt thanks,
Peter Link & Vera Oswald
