Remilk, an Israeli company producing dairy-identical proteins without cows, has launched “The New Milk” in collaboration with Gad Dairies, a leading Israeli dairy brand. This product, which mirrors the taste, texture, and nutritional benefits of traditional cow’s milk, is produced using a unique fermentation process that does not involve animals. It is now available in select cafés and restaurants across Israel, with plans to expand into retail chains next month.
“This is a defining moment for the dairy category”
“The New Milk” offers three variations: Barista Milk, which is designed for the food service market, and two retail products—plain milk and vanilla-flavored milk. These products are lactose-free, cholesterol-free, fortified with vitamins and calcium, and contain 75% less sugar than conventional milk. Additionally, they are kosher-pareve, meeting the needs of those who follow kosher dietary laws.
Remilk’s CEO and co-founder, Aviv Wolff, discussed the significance of the launch, noting the company’s long journey to reach this point. “We founded Remilk with a clear vision – to create a better, healthier, and tastier world through real milk made without cows. Today, in a remarkable global milestone, that vision is becoming a reality. Our partnership with Gad Dairies, a brand with an unmatched culinary legacy, is the natural next step to ensure the highest-quality, best-tasting products.”

Historic moment for Israel’s dairy industry
Gad Dairies, Israel’s fourth-largest dairy company, has also embraced the collaboration with Remilk. Amir Aharon, CEO of Gad Dairies, described the partnership as a historic moment for both companies and the dairy industry: “Our collaboration with Remilk represents a global breakthrough for Gad – milk born from advanced science and technology, yet rooted in decades of culinary tradition. The New Milk proves that it’s possible to combine premium quality, sustainability, and industrial innovation without sacrificing taste. This is a defining moment for the dairy category.”
Remilk’s patented technology, developed over five years and with an investment of more than $150 million, allows for the creation of real dairy proteins without the use of animals. This breakthrough has resulted in a product that replicates the full range of cow’s milk qualities, from frothing ability to stability in coffee.
Wolff, reflecting on the journey to bring The New Milk to market, shared a personal message with his team: “Five years ago, this was science fiction, maybe even a good joke. Milk without cows. Come on!! Five years passed, five years of dogged determination, breakthroughs and above all, Remilk magic. And today, the world will see what we did. Today, the first Remilk bottle will be opened in Israel.”
