Fork & Good Consolidates Cultivated Beef and Pork Production with Orbillion Acquisition

Cultivated meat company Fork & Good has acquired Orbillion Bio, consolidating operations focused on pork and beef cell cultivation. The combined company will operate across North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, with production continuing at Fork & Good’s pilot plant in Jersey City and Orbillion’s UAE-based subsidiary.

Pork and beef tech combined

The acquisition brings together two technology stacks: Fork & Good has developed a system for cultivating pork muscle cells, while Orbillion has scaled beef cell cultivation. The merged entity holds what it claims to be the largest intellectual property portfolio in the cultivated meat sector.

Fork & Good CEO Niya Gupta said the acquisition strengthens the company’s market position across regions. “We’re already working with customers in North America and East Asia and are excited to bring Orbillion’s relationships in Europe and the Middle East online. We’re not asking food manufacturers to wait 5–10 years for supply chain solutions—we’re giving them the ability to improve their products and create that resilience right now,” she explained.

Commercial traction already underway

Both companies have existing commercial contracts, including paid development agreements and offtake arrangements with food manufacturers. One of these is Netherlands-based Luiten Food, which has partnered with Orbillion on cultivated beef.

“Serving the customer of the future requires innovation. Our vision is to integrate Fork and Good’s cultivated meat with familiar meat and plant-based options,” said Lennert Luiten, CEO of Luiten Food.

Fork & Good, originally spun out of Modern Meadow, currently generates revenue through partnerships in North America and Asia. Orbillion Bio has focused on cultivated beef and was the first in the field to enter a commercial agreement with a conventional meat company in Europe.

Gabor Forgacs, co-founder and CSO of Fork & Good, referenced lessons from his prior work in the sector: “We learned the lesson the hard way, when launching Modern Meadow, the first cultivated meat company, thinking technology is all and customers follow. We now know better, and this acquisition allows us to widen our customer base and the technological repertoire that is needed to accomplish this.”

Mid-scale before scaling up

The company is focusing on mid-scale production to demonstrate cost efficiency before expanding further. The goal is to offer ingredients that enhance product functionality, such as shelf life and binding properties, while complying with clean label standards.

Orbillion CEO Patricia Bubner will take on the role of Chief Operating Officer at Fork & Good. She stated, “The combination of our strengths allows us to deliver greater value to our customers by offering a broader portfolio of products and a stronger foundation for long-term partnership.”
